The LHC at CERN in Geneva is one of the largest international scientific experiments ever conducted. Germany is contributing a scientifically and financially outstanding share, mostly by the BMBF, the universities as well as the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft and the Helmholtz Association, to enable this science project.
The project presented in Munich gives visitors the opportunity to inform intensively about "Die Weltmaschine" for four days. The event is supervised by scientists who are currently engaged in the ATLAS experiment at CERN and will be available for discussions and questions of the visitors during the entire event.
