We invite applications for a postdoctoral position in experimental particle physics within our ATLAS group. We are one of the leading institutes in the ATLAS muon detector collaboration. The group has contributed decisively to the design and construction of the ATLAS muon spec-trometer and is leading the upgrades of the ATLAS muon detector in the current LHC shut-down and for High-Luminosity LHC. We are developing the new front-end and trigger elec-tronics for the ATLAS muon drift-tube (MDT) chambers and are preparing for the construc-tion of new small-diameter MDT and thin-gap RPC chambers for HL-LHC. Our data analysis program concentrates on the measurements of the Higgs boson properties and the search for new physics beyond the Standard Model. The successful candidate is expected to play a leading role in the muon detector and electronics development and in the coordination of the construction. There will also be opportunities to participate in the ATLAS data analysis and in teaching at the university. A PhD in particle physics and experience with the operation of par-ticle detectors is required.
Salary and benefits are according to the German public service pay scale (TVöD Bund). The contract is initially limited to two years and can be extended in accordance with German law.
