The MDT Trigger Processor (TP) system is built of a set of ATCA cards. Each of these ATCA cards consists of a mother board called Service Moduel (SM), which mainly provides power and control through the ATCA Shelf Manager (ShM). The high-speed data IOs and the data processing part is located on a daughter board called Command Module (CM). Alluding to the Apollo spacecraft of NASA, which consisted of a command and a service module, the ATCA hardware platform project is also called ”Apollo”.
