From Munich city center or Garching Research Center take the U6 subway line to reach the Max Planck Institute for Physics. Get off at the “Studentenstadt” stop. Once you are above ground, walk northwards along Ungererstrasse. After approx. 200 meters, turn right into Föhringer Ring. After a few meters you will reach the entrance to the MPP.

from Munich, e.g. Marienplatz: 11 minutes
from Garching Research Center: 15 minutes
Then a walk of approx. 7 minutes
At the airport, take the S8 S-Bahn line and get off at the “Unterföhring” stop. From the bus stop “Unterföhring, Rivastrasse” take the MVV regional bus line 233 to the “Studentenstadt” stop. From here you can reach the Institute as described above.
Alternatively, you can take the Airport ExpressBus to Munich and get off at Munich “Nordfriedhof” stop. From there you take the U6 subway line to the “Studentenstadt” stop and then walk to the Max Planck Institute for Physics (route as described above).
Travel time for both options: Approx. 40 minutes
Then a walk of approx. 7 minutes
