The discovery of the Higgs boson isn't like the average record listet in the Guiness Book of Records. Normally achievements listet in the book can be exceeded. Because of its scientific significance the discovery of the 'God Particle' was included in the Guiness Book of Records on occasion of the 60th anniversary of the european research center CERN.
Event recorded with the CMS detector in 2012 at a proton-proton centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV. The event shows characteristics expected from the decay of the SM Higgs boson to a pair of photons (dashed yellow lines and green towers).
