Looking into the future of theoretical particle physics

Symposium May 18-20, 2016

Where do the most important topics and trends in theoretical physics lie? This is the question to be pursued by internationally renowned experts at the symposium “New Developments in Theoretical Particle Physics.” The event takes place from May 18 to 20, 2016, at the Max Planck Institute for Physics.

The symposium offers physicists an opportunity to discuss new developments in this field. The topics will cover a broad spectrum in high-energy physics, extending from phenomenological studies to modeling and on to formal aspects of particle physics.

“Our goal is to identify the topics that will be central to theoretical particle physics in the future, and to talk about new approaches,” explains Dieter Lüst, director of the Max Planck Institute for Physics. “We’re delighted that we’ve been able to attract some of the world’s leading physicists to take part.”
